Notorious Chambal dacoit Jagan Gurjar, 50, was found murdered in his Ajmer jail barrack. Guards discovered him unresponsive, and a jail doctor pronounced him dead. Preliminary investigations suggest a personal scuffle with his barrack mate, Vishnu Jat, rather than gang rivalry. Gurjar, who faced 128 criminal cases, was lodged in the high-security facility for assault and intimidation charges. A judicial inquiry is underway.
