AIIMS-Jodhpur’s ENT department successfully performed a bilateral cochlear implant surgery on a nine-month-old infant in a single session, a procedure believed to be a first for a government healthcare institution in India for a patient this young. The infant, diagnosed with profound hearing loss, underwent the complex surgery due to her young age and delicate physiology.
