A man from Kerala, Mohammad Ismail, was arrested for allegedly defrauding the wife of an RAS officer of Rs 7.5 lakh. Posing as a DoT official, Ismail blackmailed Ruchi Mathur with false accusations of sending inappropriate messages and money laundering. He extracted personal information and then withdrew funds from her account, prompting a police investigation and his subsequent arrest.
