A Mexican navy tall ship, the Cuauhtémoc, lost power and collided with the Brooklyn Bridge, injuring 23 people, including four critically. The ship’s masts struck the bridge’s roadbed as it prepared to depart for Iceland, causing significant damage to the vessel. The incident prompted a brief closure of the bridge for inspection.
